Undergraduate Programs
The undergraduate curriculum consists of a 33-hour core, combined with one of four areas of concentration, each of which requires an additional four courses. The core requirements and the courses applicable to areas of concentration are listed below.
33-hour core:
- General: Human Geography (1103) and Physical Geography (1114)
- Two systematic physical classes, chosen from Geomorphology, Biogeography, Regional Climatology, Soils, Hydrology, and other Geography courses approved by a faculty advisor
- Two systematic human classes, chosen from Economic, Cultural, Political, Historical, Language of Maps, Globalization and the Environment, and other Geography courses approved by a faculty advisor
- Two technical classes, consisting of Analytical Methods and a class chosen from GIS 1, Remote Sensing 1, Air-Photo Interpretation, Field Techniques, and other Geography courses approved by a faculty advisor
- One regional course, chosen from World Regional, Europe, Africa, China, Oklahoma, Urban Ecology of Norman, and other Geography courses approved by a faculty advisor
- Dialogue on the Discipline of Geography
- Proseminar
